Situated approximately 143 metres off on the Innishrush Road, this secluded residence replaces an existing non listed vernacular stone dwelling with associated out buildings. The dwelling is designed to integrate into its surroundings, deal intelligently with the climate whilst satisfying the client’s request for a home which truly reflects their desires, aspirations and lifestyle.

Externally, the residence’s is a simple rectilinear form, created using a natural palette of materials, the mono-pitch roof (allowing solar gain deep into the plan) is covered in natural slate, the walls to the south are of natural stone creating thermal mass while all others are of fresh white render, the windows and doors are made from timber. These familiar elements are constantly contrasted with innovative engineering and fresh, modern aesthetic choices. Detailing is precise but embellishment minimal seeking a sense of connection with its rural roots.
